UNDER 20: BAGNASCHI SEALS A 1-1 DRAW AGAINST MILAN

A solid Monza side, mathematically safe and preparing to compete in the Under 20 Championship for the fourth consecutive season, drew against Milan in the 36th matchday of the league campaign: the rossoneri took the lead in the first half, while the biancorossi reacted after the break, restored parity and came close to snatching victory late on.

Both teams started the match with courage and personality, going toe-to-toe from the opening minutes.

After several attacking attempts from both sides, the deadlock was broken at 18’ and it was the rossoneri who went ahead. Scotti stepped up from the penalty spot and converted the spot-kick awarded by the referee.

At 19’ Monza responded immediately through Buonaiuto, who deceived his marker with a feint on the edge of the box before striking with great precision. Bouyer flew across goal and tipped the ball away from the top corner.

A minute later the hosts threatened again, as Villa rose highest from a corner kick, beating his marker in the air and narrowly missing the equaliser.

The home side continued to push forward in search of opportunities and, at 32’, Mout tried his luck from distance: the strike was powerful but off target.

At 40’ Plazzotta combined neatly with a teammate, aimed for goal and narrowly missed the target. The brianzoli immediately surged forward in response, with Azarovs advancing down the flank and crossing for Fogliaro, whose header lacked precision.

The first half ended 0-1.

After the break the tempo dropped slightly and both sides introduced fresh legs from the bench.

The biancorossi grew into the game and found the equaliser at 22’: Attinasi delivered a pinpoint cross for Bagnaschi, who attacked the area brilliantly and beat Bouyer.

At 25’ Bagnaschi had already threatened on the counterattack, but the captain’s right-footed effort drifted wide of the post.

Monza continued to press and, at 28’, nearly completed the comeback through Attinasi, whose powerful and accurate strike rolled just wide.

The second half was dominated by the biancorossi: first at 38’ Fardin, then at 42’ Villa tested the goalkeeper, who produced two excellent saves. The match eventually ended 1-1 at the final whistle.

In the next round, scheduled for Saturday, May 9th at 3:00 PM, AC Monza will travel to face Atalanta BC.
