The biancorossi of AC Monza, after their last six consecutive home results, come up short against Roma in the sixteenth matchday of the championship. The match ends 0-5.
At 6', following a free-kick, the biancorossi have their first shot. Reita takes the free-kick from outside the area, but the ball goes just to the left of the post.
The game opens at 11' and the visitors celebrate. Arena, in front of Strajnar, does not miss and gives his team the lead.
At 15', the giallorossi go on the attack again: Di Nunzio shoots from the edge of the area, failing to find the target.
At 18', Sangaré delivers a dangerous cross, saved by Strajnar, well positioned between the posts. On the rebound, Litti gets to the ball, but his shot goes over the bar.
Roma stays on the offensive and at 23' Di Nunzio challenges Strajnar once again, with the ball rolling out for a goal kick.
Shivers for the brianzoli defense at 32' as Della Rocca, from close range, hits the post.
In the second half, Monza restarts with courage and determination, looking for a spark to reopen the game.
At 11', Gaye breaks free from his marker and from the left serves Reita in the area, who takes a first-time shot just over the crossbar.
The giallorossi increase the pressure, but the home team remains compact, trying to exploit the wide areas on the counterattack.
Within a few minutes, the script changes: first, at 25', Seck scores, followed by Lulli at 27', giving the visitors their second and third goals of the afternoon. Monza reacts but cannot trouble the well-positioned defense.
At 32', Arena completes his personal brace and at 40' Lulli closes the scoring. At the final whistle, the match ends 0-5.
In the next round, scheduled for Monday, 22nd December at 1:00 PM, AC Monza will face Cesena FC away.
