TORINO 1 - 0 MONZA: MATCH REPORT


An unlucky afternoon for Monza, as the Biancorossi fall 1-0 to Torino at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.

A very balanced first half, with both teams trying to attack but struggling to create any danger.

The biggest chance is for Monza in the 31st minute when Djuric’s volley is deflected in corner.

In the second half the hosts start stronger and have a great chance in the 52nd minute when Di Gregorio saves on Buongiorno’s header. One minute later Di Gregorio makes another great save, this time on Okereke’s precise strike.

In the 67th minute then the episode that decides the match; Pessina fouls Ricci in the box and Aureliano concedes a penalty. Sanabria goes on the spot and does not miss, making it 1-0 for Torino.

Five minutes later Pessina receives a second booking and leaves Monza down to 10 men. Despite the numerical inferiority, the Biancorossi push hard in order to find the equaliser which, however, does not arrive.

It ends 1-0 at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, Monza will be back on the pitch on Sunday 7th April at 3pm at the U-Power Stadium against Napoli.
