SASSUOLO 1 - 2 MONZA: MATCH REPORT


A crazy friday night in Reggio-Emilia for Monza, as the Biancorossi beat Sassuolo 1-2 thanks to a 93rd minute goal by Pessina.

Sassuolo starts strong and create a couple of chances with Bajrami and Berardi. As the minutes pass Monza gains confidence and starts attacking, but in the last play of the first half Santoro concedes a penalty to the hosts. Berardi goes on the spot and does not miss, making it 1-0 for Sassuolo.

In the second half the Biancorossi react well and find the well deserved equaliser in the 60th minute thanks to Ciurria, who scores his sixth goal in this Serie A.

Eight minutes later then Sassuolo lose Tressoldi, who receives a double yellow card and gets sent off.

Thanks to the numerical advantage, Monza starts pushing heavily and finds the winner in the 93rd minute thanks to Captain Pessina.

It ends 1-2 at the Mapei Stadium, the Biancorossi will be back on the pitch on Sunday 28th May at 3pm at the U-Power Stadium against Lecce.
