MONZA 2 - 2 LAZIO: MATCH REPORT

With a goal from Djuric, who scored a brace in the 92nd minute, a beautiful Monza stopped Lazio at 2-2 and won a well-deserved and heavy point.

The first chance belongs to the biancorossi who start well. In the 6th minute Djuric exchanges with Zerbin and with his left-footed low shot grazes the corner at the second post. One step away from scoring Monza. Lazio suffers, but strikes at the first lunge. Di Gregorio deflects Kamada's shot over the crossbar with an incredible save, but he can do nothing on Immobile's winning rebound, who with his right-footed shot puts the Biancocelesti ahead in the 11th minute. The Brianzoli resumed grinding their game and in the 23rd minute went very close to equalizing. Great initiative by Colpani who goes off on the right and brushes a soft cross into the middle where Valentin Carboni smashes a header narrowly missing the goal. Lazio came on in flashes, as in the 28th minute when Immobile tried a great backheel goal on a close cross from the right, but Di Gregorio was alert.

For the rest, it is Monza that attacks, patiently trying to unhinge the opponent's defense. In the 35th minute, Colpani inspires for Pessina, who takes aim and brushes his left, which is repelled by Mandas. The red-and-whites insisted and again came close to equalizing with Bondo's header, just wide on Valentin Carboni's cross. At halftime, undeserved disadvantage for Monza. Palladino's team also attacked in the second half. In the 62nd minute Colpani cut the Roman defense in two with a fantastic action, but after also skipping past Mandas he found the rebound of the Greek goalkeeper who recovered and saved. In the 71st minute Coach Palladino plays a triple change, inserting Dany Mota, Akpa Akpro and Donati.

And it was from a perfect cross by Donati in the 73rd minute that Djuric's equalizing goal came, first annulled and then confirmed by the Var. Second goal for the biancorosso, seventh overall in this championship for the Bosnian, ready to score after Mandas' rebound on Pessina's diving header. Monza wants to win and attacks. Palladino also plays the Caldirola card in the 78th minute. The match seemed to be firmly in the hands of the biancorossi and instead in the 83' surprise came the 2-1 Lazio with Vecino, skillful in inserting himself centrally and coldly beating Di Gregorio. Monza did not give up. In the 86th minute Palladino also inserted Caprari, returning to the field after eight months. In the 89th minute Pablo Marí took aim and unloaded a great right-footer that Mandas lifted into the corner. In the five minutes of stoppage time Lazio had a chance on the counterattack with Guendouzi in the 91st minute, but Di Gregorio saved Monza. And the well-deserved 2-2 came soon after, again with the unleashed Djuric flying into the sky to frame on Pessina's calibrated cross in the 92nd minute.

It thus ends to the applause of the red and white fans for a heartfelt and quality performance by the Brianzoli, who will return to the field on Monday, May 13 at 8:45 p.m. at home to Fiorentina.
