JUVENTUS 2 - 0 MONZA: MATCH REPORT

At the Allianz Stadium, Juventus defeated Monza 2-0 on Matchday 34 of Serie A.

After an evenly balanced opening, Kolo Muani forced an early save from Turati with an acrobatic overhead kick in the 5th minute. Monza responded immediately: in the 7th minute, Birindelli launched a rapid counterattack, slicing through the Bianconeri defense, but was denied by former Monza goalkeeper Di Gregorio. However, it was Nico Gonzalez who found the breakthrough in the 11th minute, firing a powerful left-footed shot from outside the box into the bottom corner, repeating his goal from the reverse fixture last December.

Monza reacted promptly and, in the 13th minute, Dany Mota appealed for a penalty after a pull by Kelly, but referee Perenzoni allowed play to continue. Juventus came close again in the 23rd minute, when Kolo Muani missed the target from a promising position. The French striker made amends shortly after, finishing off a counterattack led by Thuram to double Juventus' lead in the 33rd minute. Just before halftime, Yildiz was sent off after a VAR review for an elbow on Bianco, leaving Juventus with ten men.

Monza started the second half strongly, pushing Juventus deep into their own half. In the 52nd minute, Kyriakopoulos delivered a cross from the left, met by a header from Birindelli at the far post, but Di Gregorio saved comfortably. Birindelli remained a constant threat, and his cross in the 55th minute was intercepted at the last moment to deny Dany Mota a scoring opportunity. Moments later, Castrovilli fired over the bar with a right-footed attempt.

Juventus had their first opportunity of the second half in the 58th minute, with Nico Gonzalez attempting a delicate chip that Turati turned away. Coach Nesta refreshed his side at the 63rd minute, introducing Petagna and Forson. Monza came close again in the 67th minute, as Castrovilli narrowly missed the far post following a loose ball from Di Gregorio on a Caprari free kick. Further substitutions followed, with Sensi replacing Castrovilli at the 74th minute, and Ciurria and Vignato entering in the 81st.

Monza continued to press with determination: in the 82nd minute, Forson unleashed a powerful left-footed shot, deflected for a corner. One minute later, Pedro Pereira crossed for Caprari, whose header was well saved by Di Gregorio. Despite their efforts and additional attempts by Forson and Sensi, Monza could not break through.

The match ended 2-0 for Juventus, mirroring the result of the last meeting at the Allianz Stadium. The Biancorossi will return to action on Sunday, May 4 at 3:00 PM, when they host Atalanta at the U-Power Stadium.
