The Under 12 category is a crucial stage in the development of young AC Monza players. At this level, the goal is not only to improve the boys’ technical skills, but also to guide them through a balanced and structured path that combines athletic, personal and human growth.
Structured training sessions, attention to detail and a focused educational approach allow the young biancorossi to develop coordination, game understanding and team spirit, without ever losing sight of enjoyment.
The daily work of the staff, led by coach Marco Cattaneo, is what lays the foundation for the players’ development: “The planning of training sessions and the analysis of weekend matches are the tools we use to map out an individual growth path, both by highlighting the good plays performed on the field and by addressing mistakes together. Our athletes are supported and guided at every moment and the staff constantly communicates with each of them so that everyone feels involved”, said the coach.
“The main objective, in fact, is to create a training environment that is always proactive and focused on self-improvement. Mistakes are part of the game: it is through them that players learn and grow, both in football and on a human level. Together with the staff, we aim to encourage the boys to learn new things and to refine, enrich, and develop what they already know how to do”, Cattaneo added.
Every challenge thus becomes an opportunity to learn, make mistakes and grow.
At the heart of the Under 12 project is the group. Young players quickly learn the importance of collaboration, mutual support and a sense of belonging to the biancorossi jersey.
Education, respect for commitments, rules, teammates and emotional management are just as important as athletic performance: “Ours is a very united and charismatic group, made up of boys who, from the very beginning, have shown a strong desire to challenge themselves and grow. Over the course of the season, both teamwork and self-confidence, in themselves and in their teammates, have increased. Every day brings new challenges and it is fascinating to see how each of them faces them with courage and determination, both in good times and in difficulties. Our task is to always support them with trust and respect”, the coach stated.
“The methodology we follow involves not interfering with the players’ choices, allowing them the freedom to experiment and independently face the various game situations they encounter, thus developing their decision-making skills. Our role is to provide the players with all the tools, technical skills, we can and to create a game environment in which they can express themselves freely and at their best. Compared to the beginning of the year, their plays are now increasingly precise and varied, but above all more functional and suited to the situations they experience. Currently, we are working on transitions, that is, the individual ability to react to losing or regaining possession”, concluded coach Cattaneo.
In AC Monza’s Youth Academy, the Under 12 category is much more than just a team level: it is a laboratory of growth, enthusiasm and values, a place where football becomes an educational tool and an opportunity to build one’s future, both on and off the field.
