Palladino's team starts strong and finds the lead in the 8th minute with Pessina, who beats Martinez with a header after being served by Colpani.
Ten minutes later Monza doubles, this time with an absolute screamer from Dany Mota; Colpani crosses in the box and the Portuguese striker beats Martinez with a wonderful bicycle kick.
The second half starts in favour of the hosts, who earn a penalty in the 50th minute due to a handball by Pablo Mari.
Gudmundsson goes on the spot, Di Gregorio saves but the Genoa’s striker is quicker than everybody else and taps the ball in.
The hosts start pushing in order to find the equaliser, which arrives in the 68th minute thanks to Vitinha.
Monza however reacts and finds the winner in the 80th minute thanks to Maldini, who taps the ball in after Martinez’s save on Carboni.
It ends 2-3 at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, the Biancorossi will be back on the pitch on Saturday 16th March at 3pm at the U-Power Stadium against Cagliari.
