MONZA REMAINS IN NINE AND LOSES AGAINST BENEVENTO

Hard evening for Monza, which after suffering two expulsions in the first half falls 3-1 in Benevento in the recovery of the Serie BKT eighteenth day and interrupts the series of ten consecutive useful results.

After losing both Dany Mota and Gytkjaer, Mister Stroppa chooses Valoti in attack to support Ciurria in the usual 3-5-2 Biancorosso. The two teams haven't played in the league for more than a month and the balance prevails at the start.

At the first opportunity of the match, however, the hosts pass. It's the seventh minute when Insigne sprints in on the right and beats Di Gregorio with a flat shot into the corner. Monza responds with a double opportunity on 27': first Carlos Augusto engages Paleari with his right foot and then on the continuation of the action, Colpani's header goes close to the draw.

Good moment for the "biancorossi" that however remain in ten at 28', when Valeri draws a second yellow card maybe exaggerated for Mazzitelli, already warned.

Four minutes pass and the Roman referee grants a penalty to Benevento for a contact between Di Gregorio and Insigne, but after the Var consultation the decision is rightly changed, as the forward goes down alone.

Despite the numerical inferiority, Monza does not surrender and goes close to draw with Valoti, who on the bank of Marrone is seen to reject the last deviation from two steps. I

t's not a lucky night, however, for the Brianza team that at 37 'remain in nine for the direct red to D'Alessandro, who stops Moncini as last man. It becomes very hard for the team of Stroppa that at 40' takes the 2-0 of Tello in a melee on the developments of corner.

After the halftime Stroppa makes a double change, inserting Pedro Pereira and Molina, who makes his biancorosso debut, for Colpani and Ciurria. The "biancorossi" start well and at 47' they earn a penalty for Tello's hands in the box, even if the attacker is not cautioned. From the penalty spot it's very cold Valoti who opens the match again, sealing his second goal in the championship. Great reaction of Monza that believes, but must necessarily suffer Benevento attacks.

At 51 'is amazing Di Gregorio in neutralizing the deviation from two steps of Moncini. The liveliest of the hosts is Insigne, who at 62' starts from the right, returns and sends a soft left-footed shot on the second post: ball out.

The 3-1 comes on 66' and is signed by Moncini, who beats Di Gregorio at the first post. Stroppa makes his debut also with Gaston Ramirez, who enters together with Sampirisi on 69', and then Favilli, who takes over from Barberis on 76'.

The pride of the guests leads to the play of Sampirisi, who at 83' sees Paleari out of the posts and almost mocks him with a right-footed shot from the first half. The "biancorossi" close in on the attack and come close to making it 3-2 in the 90th minute with Favilli, who fails to divert the header from Ramirez's beautiful cross.

Benevento wins 3-1 and centers the fifth consecutive victory. Monza, which has not lost since October 1 in Lecce and was instead back from three successes in a row, will seek redemption on Sunday, January 16th, at 4.15pm against Perugia at the U-Power Stadium.
