YOUTH ACADEMY: AC MONZA AND FAMILIES, WORKING TOGETHER TO HELP YOUNG PLAYERS GROW

There are some kinds of love that do not need to be spoken about, because they live in silent sacrifices, hidden worries and moments of joy. The love of a parent for their child is unconditional and knows no boundaries.

In recent weeks, AC Monza welcomed the families of its biancorossi Youth Academy players to the Centro Sportivo Silvio and Luigi Berlusconi-Monzello.

From the Under 18 team all the way to the Soccer School, Head of Youth Academy Mauro Fattori, Methodology Manager Alberto Giacomini, Head of Grassroots Activity Roberta Antignozzi and the parents gathered in a circle, a symbol of unity and sharing, creating an opportunity for open discussion and dialogue.

It was a chance to reflect on how best to support the young players throughout their journey, giving everyone the opportunity to freely express their views, share experiences and explore key topics together.

Mauro Fattori and Roberta Antignozzi emphasised how, within Monza Drive, the role of parents is considered crucial and therefore evolves at every stage of a young player’s development. They highlighted the importance of effective communication, both between parents and their children and between coaches and players. The goal is to develop footballers who are aware of and take responsibility for their own decisions. To this end, the Club is investing in coach education, recognising that time moves on and, with it, the needs of new generations change. Building an effective and constructive relationship with young players is therefore essential.

Another key topic of discussion was the environment in which young people grow and develop, shaped by all the individuals who contribute to their journey in different ways. Everyone, through their role, actions and words, is responsible for helping to create a healthy, positive and stimulating environment, one that is essential to ensuring the highest quality of learning.

Alberto Giacomini presented AC Monza’s methodology and explained the work carried out by each team during training sessions, giving families a closer insight into their children’s sporting journey.

This dialogue is part of an ongoing educational programme that will continue throughout the season with further meetings.

“Taking a step back”: the words of one parent, a meaningful reflection that resonated throughout the various meetings and inspired deeper thought. No one is born knowing how to be the parent of an aspiring professional athlete; it is a role we learn over time, through experience and constructive dialogue with the people at the Club who work every day to support the well-being of young players, striving to help them grow into better footballers and better people for the future.

Love is turning tiny seeds into beautiful flowers. To love is to blossom, together.
