SUDTIROL-MONZA ENDS UP GOALLESS AT THE DRUSO

On matchday 24 of Serie BKT, Sudtirol held Monza to a 0-0 draw in Bolzano.

The hosts are coming off four wins and a draw and are starting aggressively. At 13’ Crnigoj tries with his left foot, but Azzi deflects it into a corner. The race is balanced and tactical. Monza came close to taking the lead at 19’ when Carboni headed in Colpani's corner and came very close to scoring. After a very blocked phase of play, Sudtirol tried to make themselves visible with Veseli's long-range shot at 39’, but their aim was off. Thiam's first real intervention came at 41’: the biancorosso goalkeeper promptly came off to bring on Tronchin. We go to rest at 0-0. After the break, Bianco made a triple substitution, bringing on Obiang, Ciurria and Petagna. At 51’ from a corner by Ciurria, Cutrone attempted the spectacular stunt but without luck. Sudtirol responded with a header from Kofler that Pessina saved at 62’, beating Thiam. White also plays the Keita card at 64’. The Senegalese makes himself dangerous at 67’ with a strong, but inaccurate left. At 75’ Birindelli also joined Monza who wanted to win it.

And the Brianza team came very close to breaking the deadlock at 77’, when after a good move with the ball on the ground Petagna acted as a pass to Carboni who controlled it on the run and fired very well: Adamonis outdid himself by rising for a corner. Following the corner, Birindelli crossed into the middle where Delli Carri once again tested the opposing goalkeeper with a splendid acrobatic turn. The Drusus race heats up and Sudtirol also has a chance to take the lead. At 81’ Pecorino missed the match with a 1-0 victory, hitting the ball very badly in front of Thiam. Both teams want the three-point goal and the match now appears to be in its decisive moment. Obiang catches a perfect Birindelli throw, but Adamonis comes out responsively. At the Brianza club, they asked for a penalty, but the referee didn't agree and the match ended goalless, a score that had been missing for the Brianza club for almost exactly a year, Monza-Lecce on February 16th, 2025.

The biancorossi will return to the field on Sunday 15th February at 3:00 PM, when they host Juve Stabia at the U-Power Stadium.
