Ricardo Luís Chaby Mangas is a new Monza player.
The Portuguese defender joins from Sporting Lisbon on loan until June 30th, 2027, with an obligation to buy upon the achievement of certain conditions.
Born in Olhão on March 19th, 1998, Mangas made his professional debut with Desportivo Aves during the 2019-20 season.
In the summer of 2020, he was signed by Boavista, where he made 28 appearances and scored 3 goals in the Portuguese top flight, attracting the attention of several European clubs.
One of them was Bordeaux, whom he joined on loan for the 2021-22 season, making 29 Ligue 1 appearances and scoring 3 goals.
He returned to Boavista in the summer of 2022 and established himself as one of the best left-backs in the Portuguese league, scoring 4 goals in 27 league matches.
Mangas then left Boavista to join Vitória Guimarães, where he made a total of 38 appearances. He also made his European debut in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying rounds, scoring 4 goals.
After a spell in Russia with Spartak Moscow during the 2024-25 season, he returned to Portugal to wear the prestigious Sporting Lisbon shirt.
With Sporting Lisbon, he made his UEFA Champions League debut, featuring in two matches against Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain. He went on to make 23 appearances across all competitions in a season that saw Sporting finish second in the league and reach the Portuguese Cup final.
A dynamic left-back capable of covering the entire flank, Mangas is now ready for his first exciting adventure in Serie A with Monza.
