Born in Rome on March 19, 1976, he grew up in the youth ranks of Lazio, of which he became captain and flag, winning 1 Scudetto as well as 2 Italian Cups, 2 Italian Super Cups, 1 Cup Winners' Cup and 1 European Super Cup.

August 31, 2002 marked his historic move to Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani's AC Milan, where in ten years he was confirmed as one of the strongest defenders in the world and won ten titles.

An incredible cycle of triumphs with 2 Champions League, 2 European Super Cups, 1 Club World Cup, 2 Scudetti, 2 Italian Super Cups and 1 Coppa Italia.

His rich palmares as a player also include the 2006 World Cup won with Italy, with which he boasts 78 appearances.

His coaching career began in the summer of 2015 at Miami FC. After two years in the United States, he returned to Italy in May 2018 to coach Perugia in Serie B.

In the summer of 2019, he starts with Frosinone, which he takes all the way to the Serie B playoff final.

His steady growth takes him to the bench of Reggiana, where in the season just ended he leads the newly promoted Emilians to an excellent 11th place in Serie B.

At Monza he finds Adriano Galliani again after ten wonderful years at Milan, for his first experience as a coach in Serie A!

Welcome Alessandro!
