It is not about how many times you fall, but about the strength you find within yourself to withstand the blows and get back up stronger than before. This is an unwritten yet fundamental rule in sport. And in life.
The “The Biancorossi Footballers of Sustainability” project aims to offer young players from the Youth Academy an opportunity to share experiences and reflect, because knowledge brings understanding, listening enriches us, and exchanging ideas helps us grow.
Last week, AC Monza welcomed a special guest to the Brianteo Stadium: Momo Elmaghraby, a Monza-born boxer and reigning Italian professional light heavyweight champion, who has turned his passion into his reason for living.
From darkness to light, through sacrifice, dedication, determination, perseverance and ambition. A story of obstacles to overcome before becoming a winner, because hardship makes us stronger and allows us to discover more about ourselves. Every difficult moment is another step towards victory.
Head of AC Monza Youth Academy Mauro Fattori welcomed the athlete and introduced him to the young players from the Under 15, Under 16 and Under 17 teams, who attended the meeting alongside their coaching staff, showing great interest and enthusiasm.
It was an afternoon filled with meaningful messages. The young players enriched the discussion by sharing their thoughts, asking questions and offering valuable insights that each of them can carry forward.
Monza Drive believes in the development of its players, supporting them throughout their journey, both on and off the pitch. Sport represents redemption, hope, strength and self-awareness, but above all, it is an opportunity to create change and build a better future. AC Monza promotes the educational values that define both the football pitch and the boxing ring: principles shared by every sporting discipline and capable of contributing to personal and athletic growth.
Through thought-provoking reflections and motivational messages, the boxer highlighted the path to achieving one's goals: “Believing in yourself is the first rule for aspiring to achieve great things. Day after day, you must be willing to give your very best, because it is the preparation for the challenge you choose to face that ultimately determines the result.
In sport, just as in life, you must overcome the fear of making mistakes and never give up when faced with the first obstacle. You may make mistakes, but you must keep trying, again and again. Only then will you truly understand who you are and what you are willing to do to achieve your dream”. Fattori emphasised that success is built precisely through mistakes, whether that means completing a successful dribble, making the right decision on the pitch or winning a match. Only after trying with determination and dedication can you feel truly satisfied with yourself.
During the meeting, two videos were shown, revealing Momo's difficult past but, above all, the beauty of the present he has achieved through passion and resilience.
Today, a new challenge awaits him: on 21st November 2026, at The Art of Fighting 14 event, the Monza-born boxer will step into the ring to face Clemente Russo, one of the greatest Italian boxers of all time, who will put on his gloves once again for one final fight.
How far are you willing to go to achieve your dream?
