MATTEO PESSINA JOINS AC MONZA


Matteo Pessina is officially an AC Monza player.

The Italian midfielder arrives from Atalanta on loan until 30th June 2023, with option to buy if certain conditions are met.

A romantic return for Matteo, born in Monza on 21st April 1997.

At the age of 10 he joins AC Monza's youth academy, where he plays for seven years. In the 2014-15 season he joins the first team and scores on his debut in Serie C on 6th January 2015, at the age of 17.

That season Matteo will collect 22 appearances and 6 goals.

In the summer of 2015 Adriano Galliani sees his great talent and brings him to AC Milan.

After the loan experiences in Serie C with Lecce, Catania and Como he joins Atalanta, who sends him on loan at Spezia and where he makes his debut in the 2017-18 Serie B.

The next season he collects 12 appearances in Serie A and 5 in Europa League with Atalanta, before joining Hellas Verona on loan. With Verona he collects 35 caps and 7 goals in Serie A, contributing to the club's ninth place in the league.

Pessina is ready for the big stage, and in 2020 makes his Champions League debut with Atalanta, while in July 2021 he wins the 2020 Euro with Italy, contributing with two goals against Wales and Austria.
