The final day of the first half of the season offers excitement and brings the biancorossi back to victory: the match between Bologna FC and AC Monza at the Granarolo Youth Center in Crespellano ends with a 2-3 result.
The home team starts very aggressively and, after just two minutes of play, creates the first chance of the match with Toroc, who immediately tests Strajnar’s gloves.
At 13', the referee awards a generous penalty in favor of Bologna: Ferrari calmly converts from the spot.
Monza does not get upset and tries to respond confidently, increasing their intensity.
At 22', the visitors draw level. Mout breaks down the left and crosses well into the area toward Ballabio, whose header becomes the perfect assist for Fogliaro: the number 90 of biancorossi first faces a great save by Gnudi, then, alert on the rebound, serves Reita, who scores.
Shortly after, at 27', the Fogliaro-Reita combination causes trouble for the rossoblù defense. On a pass from the young forward born in 2008, the Monza midfielder strikes hard, but this time his left-foot shot whistles just wide of the goal.
Led by coach Oscar Brevi, the Monza team overturns the result at 38' with Mout: the talented midfielder starts and finishes a move from the right, outrunning everyone, including Reita, as the ball remains loose in the penalty area. The first half ends with the score at 1-2.
The second half begins with Bologna equalizing through Nesi on a corner kick.
Monza does not give up and at 12' regains the lead. Reita invents a spectacular through ball that sends Ballabio in goal. The number 24 of biancorossi wins the challenge with Gnudi on the way out and slots the ball into the net for the 2-3.
At 23', the home team introduces a new player, Alvarez Castillo, who attempts a header, but Strajnar is quick to block.
At 34', the Slovenian goalkeeper again makes a save with his fists, deflecting a powerful shot from Mazzetti from outside the box.
Bologna presses on, with Colonnese and teammates building a solid wall and resisting the final Monza assault with great cohesion and solidity: the 19th matchday of the season concludes with the result of 2-3.
In the next round, on Saturday, January 17th at 3:00 PM, AC Monza will open the second half of the season at home against Torino FC, in a match valid for the 20th league fixture.
