CAREER

Raised in Monza in the late '70s period in which, for the first time in his history, the red and white team was fighting for a place in Serie A. He started out in the first team when he was just sixteen, in the 1978-1979 season at the end of which Monza played the playoff for promotion to Serie A, lost 2-0 to Pescara in Bologna. He stayed in Monza for another two years for a total of 62 appearances and 13 goals with the team from Brianza. At the end of the 1980-81 season he was sold to Fiorentina, the club with which he reached the peak of his career. He made his debut in the top flight on 4 October 1981 in Catanzaro-Fiorentina 0-2 under the guidance of De Sisti. In that season Ciccio Graziani, Pecci, Cuccureddu, the other great promise Massaro and Vierchowod arrived in Florence. The 1983-84 season was the most prolific in terms of goals: 12 in 29 appearances. He remained in the purple until the 1986-87 season with a parenthesis in Ascoli in the 1982-83 season. His goal was scored, almost at the end of the game, from midfield on the exit of Garella in Fiorentina-Napoli 3-1 on January 4, 1987. In 1987 he went down in category, in Serie B, moving to Lazio, with whom he played a very good championship. : with 13 goals he was the top scorer of the biancoceleste team. He introduced himself to his new audience by transforming a penalty kick on the first day in Lazio-Sambenedettese 2-0 on 13 September 1987. He signed his only brace in biancoceleste on the last Sunday of the championship in Lazio – Taranto 3-1 on 19 June 1988 , the day when the eagles returned to Serie A. It boasts 42 appearances and 14 goals in biancoceleste (37 league appearances with 13 goals and 5 appearances in the Italian Cup with 1 goal). At the end of the season he moved to Bari. The chronicles of the time report that his transfer was at the origin of the quarrel between the then President Calleri and the coach Fascetti. Quarrel that was the basis of the removal of the technician by the Lazio presidency. He remained in the Apulian capital for two championships. At the end of the first he won the promotion in Serie A contributing with 10 goals in 36 appearances. He ended his career playing with the jerseys of Pescara, Vicenza, Nola, Crevalcore, Palazzolo and Canzese. Overall it boasts 167 appearances in Serie A, 150 in Serie B and 65 in Serie C.
